A TASK TO TRY

Give the plugin a clear task.

Is example.com up right now, and where does http://www.cloudflare.com redirect to?

BEFORE YOU CONNECT

Check the limits.

Anonymous server discovery is checked. A current installation and widget test in both hosts is not recorded for this release.

  • A single check at the moment you ask, not a monitoring service.
  • Private, loopback and reserved addresses are refused; only ports 80 and 443 can be checked.
  • A site can block the automated check; 401, 403 and 429 are reported as blocked.

WHAT THE SERVER EXPOSES

2 functions to request.

Names and descriptions below come from live MCP discovery. They describe the server; they are not a test of every function in ChatGPT or Claude.

Check websitescheck_websites

Use this when the user asks "is it down", "is this website down", "website down checker", "check if site is up", or "website status" for one or more domains: it makes a live request from the edge network and reports the verdict, redirect chain, HTTP status, response time, TLS, page title and security headers for up to 10 URLs, plus a CSV download. It cannot check IP literals, private or reserved addresses, or ports other than 80 and 443, and a site can block the check. Do not use for monitoring, uptime history, or checking an internal or private address.

Check security headerscheck_security_headers

Use this when the user asks for a "security headers check", "http status checker", or "website status" or wants to know which HTTPS and security headers a website sends: it makes one live request from the edge network and reports the six key headers (Strict-Transport-Security, Content-Security-Policy, X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options or frame-ancestors, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy) with an A-F grade, plus TLS, robots.txt and a CSV download. It checks one address at a time, cannot check private or reserved addresses, and does not scan the page content. Do not use for vulnerability tests or checks of more than one site.
